Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. Ashford is an actress as well as a singer and dancer. Her early Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors in the stage, film and TV and she is continuing her award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's upcoming project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. In March of 2023 Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the helm of the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first major role. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character as Essie. Some other Broadway credits for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and is now dividing her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
